How to merge PDF files into one document
Combine invoices, contracts or scanned pages into a single PDF in the right order, without installing software.
Updated 2 October 2026
Sending one PDF instead of six attachments looks more professional and makes sure nothing gets lost: a signed contract with its schedules, a month of invoices for your accountant, or several scanned pages of one form.
How to merge PDFs
- Open Merge PDF.
- Select all the PDFs at once. They are combined in the order you select them.
- Download the single merged file.
Tip: if your computer sorts files alphabetically, rename them first (01-contract.pdf, 02-schedule.pdf...) so they come out in the right order.
Common reasons to merge
- Sending supporting documents for a tender, loan or licence application as one file.
- Combining a quotation, terms and conditions and product sheets.
- Putting monthly statements or invoices together for bookkeeping.
- Joining scanned pages that the scanner saved as separate files.
Need the opposite?
Use Split PDF to take pages out of a long PDF, or Rotate PDF if some scanned pages are sideways. If the merged file is too large to email, run it through Compress PDF.
Do bookmarks and links survive?
Page content, text and images are kept exactly. Internal bookmarks from individual files may not carry over to the combined document.
